Guy Love. Don't deny it.....embrace it.

There comes a time when the friendship bond between two men turns into an undying romance. I'm not talking about battin' for the other team. I'm talking about the possibility of love one straight man can feel towards another. You know....the kind of love our wives and girlfriends make fun of us for. The kinds of feelings society can't seem to embrace because it's not macho enough. I have often wondered how to explain this feeling, how to help those not lucky enough to find it understand how even manly men can proclaim their love for each other. I dedicate this song to those guys that I have had the privilege of sharing this bond with. This video is the best way I could think of to share the beautiful layers of......guy love. (Don't forget to pause the music on the blog, turn up the speakers and enjoy.)

AMEN !!! I have some very strong feelings about this entry. It applies to girls as well as guys (though the world is MUCH harder on guys for this). Don't you ever long for a world where you can just hold hands or put your arm around people you really love (with any type of "lust" connotation completely void of consideration). When my mother was young, she could walk down the street holding hands with her best friend, at any age, and no thought anything except that they had a strong sisterly love. I've seen the love my boys have for each other. Guy love is real, and it's very strong. It's pure, deep, and awesome. As I grew up I remember my dad felt awkward holding my hand once I reached the teen years. Would someone think something inappropriate about an older man holding a younger woman's hand? I still hold my mom's, my son's, and my daughter's hands when we walk beside each other. There are lots of kinds of deep love that have absolutely nothing to do with "lust". Just plain admiration, trust, and adoration. Nothing more, nothing less.
